Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 21 July 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets out the rules for using GalacticNode services. It exists to keep our network fast, secure and reliable for every customer. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

1. Prohibited content

You may not use our services to host, transmit or link to:

  • Content that is illegal under applicable law.
  • Child sexual abuse material, reported immediately to the authorities and grounds for instant termination.
  • Material that infringes intellectual property or other rights.
  • Malware, phishing pages, or content designed to harm or deceive.
  • Content that is defamatory, harassing or incites violence or hatred.

2. Prohibited activity

  • Sending spam or unsolicited bulk email from our network.
  • Attempting to gain unauthorised access to any system or network.
  • Launching or participating in denial-of-service (DoS/DDoS) attacks.
  • Port scanning, probing or otherwise testing the security of systems without authorisation.
  • Distributing content or software that violates export controls or sanctions.

3. Resource usage

Shared hosting is a shared environment. To keep it fast for everyone, you may not run processes that place an unreasonable burden on server resources. This includes, but is not limited to, cryptocurrency mining, public file-sharing trackers, and unoptimised scripts that consume excessive CPU, memory or I/O. Where a site outgrows shared hosting, we will work with you to find a suitable plan.

4. Email

Bulk or marketing email must be sent only to recipients who have opted in, and must include a clear unsubscribe mechanism. We enforce sending limits to protect our IP reputation.

5. Security responsibilities

You are responsible for keeping your applications, plugins and passwords secure and up to date. Compromised accounts may be suspended to protect the wider network until the issue is resolved.

6. Enforcement

We investigate suspected violations and may remove content, suspend or terminate services, and report activity to the relevant authorities. Where practical and lawful, we will notify you and give you an opportunity to resolve the issue first.

7. Reporting abuse

To report a violation of this policy, please open a ticket through your client area with as much detail as possible. We take every report seriously.
